The first meeting in the context of the QISS Initiative took place in November 2018 at the Congress center of the Slovak Academy of Sciences at Smolenice, about one hour from Bratislava. The opportunities for the cross fertilization of Quantum Computing and Quantum Gravity that were identified lead to the three year QISS project supported by the John Templeton Foundation for the period December 2019 - August 2022.

 Information for participants

The easiest way to reach Bratislava by plane is to fly to Vienna International airport and then take the train to Bratislava central train station.

To find train connections for Bratislava and Vienna you may use this website. It is possible to reserve the ticket online but generally not necessary as there are regular connections. The main stations in Bratislava from which you can get a train to Vienna are
Bratislava-Petržalka and Bratislava Hlavná Stanica (hl. st., central station). Trains to Vienna airport (Flughafen Wien) go through the Vienna central station (Wien Hbf).

If you need help with transport arrangements please contact the organizers.
(phone contacts: Marios Christodoulou +33 7 82 86 74 53  and +33 6 48 94 58 48,  Mario Ziman +421904941497 )

Activities begin the afternoon of Wednesday the 21st (see Program) at the Research Center for Quantum Information (RCQI), located at the Slovak Academie of Sciences Main Campus (Slovenska Akademia Vied). It is about ~20min from central train station and city center, see info above and Maps. The closest bus station is called Patronka.

Taxi call in at Bratislava try +421217158 (VB taxi), costs about 4e from central station (Hlavna Stanica) to the hotel (MaxInn hotel) or the campus (Slovenska Akademia Vied).

Accomodation at Bratislava for the 20th and 21st of November is at the MaxInn hotel (address: Pri Suchom mlyne 7, 811 04 Bratislava) at 15min walking distance from the RCQI (map with directions from MaxInn to RCQI). To reach RCQI from the center you can catch a bus or metro from the Bratislava central station (the central station is called Bratislava Hlavna Stanica, map with bus connections from Bratislava Hlavna Stanica to RCQI ).

Transport to Smolenice from Bratislava: shuttle bus the morning of Thursday the 22nd.

Transport to Bratislava from Smolenice will be available the 24th depending on return flights.

The main venue is the Congress Center of the Slovak Academie of Sciences, a castle at the Smolenice village at  ~1hour from Bratislava (see Maps, two nights full board accomodation is included in registration price).

The participation contribution is 220e. Bank account transfer information:
