The hypothesis that I investigate is that the insight of philosophical pragmatism into the nature of language and rationality can be instrumental in dissolving the quantum paradoxes (such as the Wigner’s-friend) and devising new theoretical approaches to the reconstruction of the quantum structures. In this framework, I am especially interested in bringing out the connections between Niels Bohr’s reflection on quantum mechanics and the Wittgensteinian tradition in the philosophy of language (particularly Robert Brandom’s inferentialism). These connections are important when it comes to analyzing the relationship between information and objectivity, the relationship between probability and normativity, and the relationship between these two pairs of concepts.
